Malaika holds Bachelors degrees in psychology, sociology, and Masters degrees in mental health counseling and special education. Her love of physical training as well as belonging and competing as part of a team began in elementary school and continued all through adolescence where she competed in baseball, track and field and swimming. In high school she helped coach elementary school track and field athletes and while in university worked with adolescents “at risk” also coaching track and field. While working for the international school of Geneva, she was responsible for supporting several students through their physical education program and ultimately developed an adaptive physical education program where she combined social skills training and physical activity. She started training in Crossfit in 2014. Since then she has completed her Crossfit Level 1 certificate as well as completing Crossfit speciality courses in Crossfit Kids, Gymnastics, Training Adaptive Athletes and Training Masters Athletes.
