Where are you from?

I’m from Aachen (Aix-la-Chapelle), Germany, 5 minutes from the Dutch and the Belgian borders.

What is your occupation?

I’m a technical officer at WHO.

How did you discover B3F?

Someone at WHO once told me that it exists and then I just tried it out…to be honest I tried 4 other CrossFit gyms in Geneva and this was by far the best and obviously closest.

What sorts of sports / fitness activities were you doing before?

I have to say that next to CrossFit, my favourite sport is Muay Thai boxing and I am missing it lot. Next to CrossFit, I am still doing Pilates, yoga, skiing, hiking, swimming and diving and very rarely I go for a run.

Do you remember your first workout with B3F? How was it?

I do remember Zoe and how kind she explained everything and how super nice she was (still is) 😊 I really appreciate that at B3F the coaches really check that we do all the exercises correctly, reducing the risk of injuring ourselves.

What is your favourite type of workout?

I like all workouts that combine various exercises for various body parts and where you can push yourself – especially with a partner.

What is your favourite type of exercise?

Uff, I don’t have a favourite but I guess sit-ups, planks, squats and core holds. I also don’t mind burpees and lunges.

What weaknesses are you working on right now?

Oh there are many, I guess I am just generally trying to get stronger and fitter. I should aim to get more weights to build up my strength. I have zero grip strength, that is something to build up.

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

My handstand last month 😊 and generally just getting fitter again.

What are your goals?

I really don’t set myself a specific goal but I want to continue regularly and continuously to build up strength and cardio. One of my goals is to ease into running this spring to improve my cardio and to reduce sugar, which is gonna be super hard as I love sweet stuff.

Any advice for new comers?

Just stick with it and don’t get discouraged.

Anyone in particular you would like to acknowledge?

Of course the coaches, because that is what really motivates us, no matter if it is early in the morning or during lunch, I love how excited and positive everybody is. And Wiebke for being my dynamic duo partner during the partner workouts.
